Discover Your True Learning Potential Workshop

This workshop I attended was a very enjoyable one. Aunty Maggie was the one who taught us. There, we learn how to study in our own unique way. At first, each and everyone of us had to do an analysis. The questions are super hard!! I have to answer them fast without thinking. These are the results of the analysis.

BRAIN STYLE:
Holistic information processing
(Explains why I always ask questions)
I need the overview first before I can start learning. I also need to know the reasons for doing it. Most of the time I don’t want to be bothered with details-prefer knowing the big picture.
Reflective (takes a long time to get work done)
I like to take my time thinking about an assignment before tackling it. When I’m rushed or under pressure, I cannot think clearly.

SENSES:
Self-talk (auditory - internal)
Yea, agree...always talking to myself...in my head
I find it much easier to concentrate or learn when I can have an inner dialogue about the new material. My overall understanding increases and my memory improves with such self-discussions.
Watching (visual - external)(don't expect me to know exactly what you TELL me, SHOW me)
Looking at things, watching what's going on and absorbing what I see is very important for my learning success. I need to see how things are done.
Imagination (visual - internal)so if u c me laughing non-stop or for no reason I am My understanding of new material increases when I visualise what I’ve seen, heard, read or done.
Tactile
Handling study aids helps me concentrate. When I learn, read or concentrate, I really like to involve my hands. I also enjoy making things for school projects and I often fiddle with pens or other things.
Kinesthetic (action, doing/experiencing)
I learn best through physical experiences and love learning situations that require practical involvement. To remember and understand I need to be active with my body.
Kinesthetic (internal/intuition)
I rely on my intuition or gut feeling during the learning process. For best results, I need to feel good about the things I study.

CLASSROOM AND HOME:
Quiet

I need a very quiet environment while studying or reading because even slight noises tend to disrupt my concentration.
Cool temperature I like to study in cooler temperatures. If I’m too warm, I feel uneasy and find it difficult to learn and concentrate.

SOCIAL:
Peers

I prefer to work or learn with like-minded students. My study performance is best when I can exchange ideas or solve problems with a peer group.
