Discover Your True Learning Potential Workshop

This workshop I attended was a very enjoyable one. Aunty Maggie was the one who taught us. There, we learn how to study in our own unique way. At first, each and everyone of us had to do an analysis. The questions are super hard!! I have to answer them fast without thinking. These are the results of the analysis.

BRAIN STYLE:
Holistic information processing
(Explains why I always ask questions)
I need the overview first before I can start learning. I also need to know the reasons for doing it. Most of the time I don’t want to be bothered with details-prefer knowing the big picture.
Reflective (takes a long time to get work done)
I like to take my time thinking about an assignment before tackling it. When I’m rushed or under pressure, I cannot think clearly.

SENSES:
Self-talk (auditory - internal)
Yea, agree...always talking to myself...in my head
I find it much easier to concentrate or learn when I can have an inner dialogue about the new material. My overall understanding increases and my memory improves with such self-discussions.
Watching (visual - external)(don't expect me to know exactly what you TELL me, SHOW me)
Looking at things, watching what's going on and absorbing what I see is very important for my learning success. I need to see how things are done.
Imagination (visual - internal)so if u c me laughing non-stop or for no reason I am My understanding of new material increases when I visualise what I’ve seen, heard, read or done.
Tactile
Handling study aids helps me concentrate. When I learn, read or concentrate, I really like to involve my hands. I also enjoy making things for school projects and I often fiddle with pens or other things.
Kinesthetic (action, doing/experiencing)
I learn best through physical experiences and love learning situations that require practical involvement. To remember and understand I need to be active with my body.
Kinesthetic (internal/intuition)
I rely on my intuition or gut feeling during the learning process. For best results, I need to feel good about the things I study.

CLASSROOM AND HOME:
Quiet

I need a very quiet environment while studying or reading because even slight noises tend to disrupt my concentration.
Cool temperature I like to study in cooler temperatures. If I’m too warm, I feel uneasy and find it difficult to learn and concentrate.

SOCIAL:
Peers

I prefer to work or learn with like-minded students. My study performance is best when I can exchange ideas or solve problems with a peer group.

Continuation of Mission Trip

hah... so long didn't update...
It's a gud thing I've written what had happen during mission trip.... but you know what? I've lost the book...arghhh I keep on losing important stuff.... like IC, handphone, my lovale pen which has my name on it, my earing, necklace, my sis's watch!! arghh feel bad... my cat(bluff cat)-ended up in my best friend's house. I am very FORGETFUL... arghhh!!!

Ok summary for the mission trip: It was so nice there. I've learn alot from those kids. Most of them got flu there.... there's one boy bout 3 yrs old.... his eyes got dunno what problem. His mother is mute, at first me and Rach thought she was crazy... coz once she hold the parang up in the air... so scary!! Hahahaha summore Rach can ask me to don't look at her, fearing she might come chasing after you!! Hahahaha... funny experience... we walked as fast as we could when we walked pass by her. Ok this boy-only child the women got. The rest of her children died. I dunno whats the cause. So... this boy got flu n eye problem. When it comes to eating time, saw this boy's nose got cendol, long-long cendol from his nose... so I took the tissue and wiped(I don't usually do this for people). And i turn the tissue over and looked!! Ewwww, ewwww -I almost vomitted!!! The moken lady who was watching me laughed at me...haiz.... That was the last day/second last day of the trip.

The next day I got flu and fever. Got no appetite to eat. Somemore went to super nice buffet dinner in Phuket. Cannot enjoy the food cause always feeling very full although never eat. After dinner we went shopping!! Bought 3 earings. Then the next day, last day in Thailand, went shopping again. Bought 2 billabong shirts and one white skirt. Oh! our McD nicer than theirs!! WUHUU bangga!! Malaysia Boleh!! Then we went back to Malaysia!! Yes! so good to be back in your own country... where you can understand what people is talking.

Mission Trip is the best!! Wanna go again this year.... What if this year Youth and Young adults go? It will be so fun!! For those who are curious where we stay in... no we didn't stay with the people on the island, but in a chalet like that. Everyday go eat outside and buy breakfast from 7/11. Oh hahaha their ATM machine got music!! Wonder what is that for? To calm down people when they take out their cash?
