14th Feb-Just another day

I now realize my grandpa's death anniversary is on the 14th of February. Grandma was buried on this day too beside him. I visited my dear brother, John's grave as well after such a long time.

After lunch with relatives and others at a restaurant, I went straight to church for youth Valentine's Day.... and bathed. Oh the cool refreshing shower after such a super panas day.
Next, have a last dance practice before the event starts.

About the dance: We had 28 days to prepare and only had 6-7 practices!! Gosh. I'm proud of my dancers who dance well despite the lack of time we had and who were willing to sacrifice their time and effort to come for practices.

The Dance Team

When I got home, Anna the big sis told me the news concerning Tabitha.
Anna: You know about Tabitha?
Me: Yes. How you know?
Anna: Mummy told me. How you know?
Me: Mummy told me she got attacked by a virus and is in coma now..
Anna: Huh? She passed away ady.
Me: HAARRR???!!

You know, Anna likes to ask the "You know about..." question. Anna woke me up with a call at 9:12am (the morning my grandma passed away) and asked the same thing! And of course, I thought she was talking about popo having a heart attack and was hospitalized as that was the latest news I got. Yiissh..

Grandma:
I lived with her for 17 years+. When I was young, she's the one who looked after me and cook good food. Her bihun is the best! She loves feeding cats, dogs, and birds with the rice she cooks. She'll get up at 5am just to cook for them! She's the only family member I spoke mandarin to but since her hearing became poor as she got older and didn't want to use her hearing aid at home, I used sign language instead. Her voice is the loudest at home. Everyday she'll say "Ah-liuli, lou sang de for sit tiaoooo!!" which means "Ah-euni off the upstairs lights!!" to save electricity even though someone is using the room. Oh popo now you do not need to worry anything as you are now dancing joyfully in heaven. How odd, I miss your constant reminders.

Tabitha:
I remember her as the cute, chubby short girl. We had milk bottle races together with a few others when we were young. She was my partner at the front row, both of us wearing an embarassing sheep costume for a Christmas Joy parade when we were 6. She's one joyful friend but we parted when we were about 10.

Valentine's Day is just another day....
